Charlottesville, VA – A fire early Sunday morning caused significant damage to a Vocelli Pizza in Albemarle County. According to Albemarle County Fire Rescue, units responded at approximately 1:45 a.m. to a reported commercial structure fire on the 1800 block of Seminole Trail.
Firefighters arrived on the scene within five minutes, finding flames emerging from the front of the building and two trash cans ablaze on the sidewalk. Quick action by the fire suppression unit prevented the fire from spreading further, and no injuries were reported. However, the damage to the restaurant is estimated at $30,000, forcing the location to temporarily close.
The cause of the fire is considered suspicious, and the Albemarle County Fire Marshal’s Office is conducting an investigation.
