La Porte County, IN – Authorities are investigating a fatal crash involving two motorcycles and a passenger vehicle that left one man dead and four others injured near Wanatah over the weekend.
According to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at approximately 3:59 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2026, to the intersection of U.S. Highway 421 and School Road for a personal injury crash involving two Harley-Davidson motorcycles and a passenger vehicle.
Investigators said a 2005 Mazda, driven by Daniel Quiroz, 19, of Portage, was traveling northbound when it allegedly struck a 2021 Harley-Davidson from behind. The motorcycle was operated by Ryan Harrison, 42, of Clarks Hill, who was riding with passenger Amber Harrison, 41.
The Sheriff’s Office said the Mazda continued forward and struck a second 2006 Harley-Davidson operated by Levi Bridges, 42, of Lafayette, ejecting both Bridges and his passenger, Amanda Bridges, 41.
Ryan and Amber Harrison were airlifted to South Bend Memorial Hospital, while Levi and Amanda Bridges were transported to Franciscan Health Michigan City for treatment.
Authorities said Ryan Harrison died Sunday, July 12, from injuries sustained in the crash.
According to investigators, toxicology testing is pending, and no additional information has been released.
