Champaign-Urbana, IL – The H.O.Y.C.E. Center has launched its Annual Season of Giving Gift Drive, running now through December 1, to help brighten the holidays for local children and families impacted by ongoing economic challenges and the recent government shutdown.
According to organizers, donations of new, unwrapped toys, pajamas, and books for children ages 0–17 can be dropped off at several area locations, including the Urbana and Champaign Police Departments, Urbana Park District facilities, Mix 94.5 / The Vibe 97.9 radio studios, the Rantoul Business Center, and the Village of Thomasboro Town Hall.
The center hopes to collect enough items to serve more than 600 youth this holiday season. Community members are also encouraged to contribute financially through givebutter.com/2025seasonofgiving, or to join “The Bump Challenge,” a fun donation competition that grows with every gift.
Volunteers are needed to help sort donations and assist at the December 6 giveaway event. Interested participants can sign up at hoycecenter.org/volunteer-at-hoyce.
“This year is especially tough for many families, but together, we can make sure every child feels seen, celebrated, and cared for,” organizers shared.
