Warsaw, Missouri – Two tornadoes touched down near Warsaw Friday evening, damaging homes, trees, and buildings along key roadways including Highway 65, with impacts still being assessed early Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Springfield, a confirmed EF1 tornado struck northwest Warsaw between 7:24 p.m. and 7:26 p.m. Friday, packing peak winds of 90 mph. The tornado carved a 2.6-mile path up to 300 yards wide, flipping mobile homes, damaging roofs and signage, and snapping or uprooting numerous trees along the Highway 65 corridor.

A second tornado, rated EF0, touched down southeast of Warsaw near Missouri Route 83 and Highway MM around 7:23 p.m. That storm produced winds near 80 mph, damaging a building and knocking down trees. The total path length for this tornado is still under review.

No injuries or fatalities have been reported, but debris and structural damage may continue to affect local roads and access points. Drivers in Benton County should use caution near impacted areas, especially along Highway 65 and surrounding rural routes.

Survey teams will continue damage assessments through the weekend, and officials say additional updates are expected as crews determine if paths extend farther or if more tornadoes occurred.
