Indianapolis, IN – Central Indiana is preparing for a day of scattered showers and thunderstorms, with the potential for severe weather. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a warning for isolated strong to severe storms, mainly affecting south central Indiana this afternoon.

According to the NWS, these storms could bring damaging winds and hail as a cold front moves through the area. The forecast indicates that northern central Indiana will experience temperatures in the upper 70s, while the Indianapolis metro area will see temperatures near 80 degrees. South central Indiana is expected to reach the low 80s.

The afternoon and evening hours will be the most critical for severe weather, with isolated severe thunderstorms posing a risk to the region. Residents are advised to stay updated with local weather reports and be prepared for possible disruptions.

Looking ahead, Thursday’s forecast shows a high of 81 degrees with partly cloudy skies. Friday and Saturday are expected to be warmer, with highs of 83 and 87 degrees, respectively. The weekend will bring a mix of sun and rain, with a 45% chance of showers on Saturday.

Early next week, temperatures will cool down significantly. Monday’s high will be 79 degrees, followed by cooler days with highs in the low 60s to mid-70s. By Wednesday, another chance of rain returns, with a high near 70 degrees.
