Indianapolis, IN – Central Indiana is set to experience multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms today, with conditions likely to persist throughout the weekend. Morning temperatures are expected to be in the 70s, with isolated showers mainly in the southern part of the region. As the day progresses, temperatures will rise into the low to upper 80s, bringing with them a higher likelihood of scattered storms, particularly north of Interstate 74.
According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, the first line of showers will move southeast early in the morning, clearing the way for more scattered storms to develop by afternoon. The evening is forecasted to see temperatures drop to the upper 60s to low 70s, with isolated storms still possible.
Looking ahead to Sunday, the weather pattern remains unsettled with a 40% chance of showers and storms, and temperatures slightly cooler, ranging from the mid-60s in the morning to highs near 79°F. The start of the workweek on Monday is expected to bring some relief, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the upper 70s. By Tuesday, the region should see a more significant drop in temperatures, with morning lows in the mid-50s and highs in the mid-70s under mostly sunny skies.
