According to the NWS, thunderstorms are expected to develop later today, bringing gusts up to 70 mph and heavy rainfall across the region. The highest risk areas include Indianapolis, Lafayette, and Terre Haute. Additional severe storms are forecasted for Thursday, continuing the threat of heavy rain and strong winds. The temperature in Indianapolis is expected to reach a high of 91°F today, with a 55% chance of precipitation. On Thursday, the high will be around 92°F with a 50% chance of rain. The storm threat diminishes slightly by Friday, with a high of 84°F and a 50% chance of showers.
The weekend outlook improves, with partly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-80s. However, there is still a 30% chance of rain on Saturday. By Sunday, clearer skies and highs of 89°F are anticipated. Early next week, temperatures will remain in the upper 80s, with lower rain chances, providing some relief from the stormy conditions.
