Santa Barbara, California – Strong winds are set to sweep across California’s Central Coast and mountain مناطق today into tonight, raising concerns for difficult travel and isolated power outages.

According to the National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard, a Wind Advisory begins as early as 2 p.m. Thursday along San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara County beaches, where gusts could reach up to 35 mph through the evening. Winds will intensify later tonight across the Santa Ynez Mountains and southwestern Santa Barbara County, with gusts up to 45 mph expected from 7 p.m. through early Friday morning.

Communities including Lompoc, Pismo Beach, Gaviota, and areas near San Marcos Pass will see the strongest impacts, especially in exposed coastal and mountain areas. High-profile vehicles traveling along coastal highways and mountain passes may experience hazardous driving conditions due to strong crosswinds.

Tree limbs could be blown down, and unsecured outdoor objects may become airborne. Isolated power outages are also possible in areas with the strongest gusts.

Residents should secure loose items and use caution while driving, particularly overnight when winds peak. Conditions are expected to gradually improve by Friday morning, though breezy conditions may linger.
