CEDAR LAKE, IN – The Cedar Lake Police and Fire Department will host a chili cook-off contest to raise funds for Social Worker Intern, Mona Garcia, who was seriously injured in a vehicle crash on May 3, 2023.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 4-6 pm, at St Michael The Archangel National Catholic Church, located at 6629 W 133rd Ave, Cedar Lake, IN 46303.
Mona Garcia, a Cedar Lake resident of 20+ years, received multiple broken bones and required surgery. The proceeds from the event will go towards her healing and recovery.
Attendees can purchase chili for $1 per cup and additional monetary donations for Mona will also be accepted. For each cup purchased, attendees will receive a ticket to vote for their favorite chili.
Those interested in entering the chili contest can do so at no cost. Entries should be submitted at the church at 3:30 pm on the day of the event and participants should bring their own ladle and toppings.
