Logansport, IN – A Cass County man has been sentenced to 120 years in prison after a jury convicted him of child molesting involving three juvenile victims.
According to the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office, Lucas Titus, 32, was sentenced Tuesday in Cass Superior Court 2 to 120 years in the Indiana Department of Correction. The sentence follows a jury trial in May, during which Titus was found guilty of molesting three separate juveniles.
The investigation was led by Detective Joe Nies of the Cass County Sheriff’s Department. Prosecutors said the case began after Rachel Clark of the Indiana Department of Child Services responded to a report involving the family for unrelated allegations.
During sentencing, Cass Superior Court 2 Judge Lisa Swaim said Titus had betrayed a position of trust and noted the victims would suffer lifelong harm because of his actions.
Cass County Prosecutor Noah Schafer thanked Clark, Detective Nies, and the Cass County Sheriff’s Department for their work investigating and pursuing the case.
“We are also tremendously proud of the victims for bravely facing the criminal who violated them, and we salute the jury who listened to the evidence and held this perpetrator accountable,” Schafer said in a statement.
The Prosecutor’s Office said the case highlights the collaborative efforts of investigators, child protection officials, prosecutors, and the court system in pursuing crimes involving children.
