Cass County Authorities Respond to Motorcycle Crash on US 12

Cass County, MI – A Union, Michigan man was injured in a motorcycle crash Thursday night near Mason Township. Cass County Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reported that deputies responded to the scene around 9:20 p.m. after the accident occurred near the intersection of Cassopolis Road and US 12.

Authorities said 32-year-old Andrew Trotter was traveling east on US 12 when his motorcycle veered off the road. Trotter was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in a nearby ditch. The motorcycle continued forward, striking a rock before overturning and coming to a stop on the shoulder of the roadway.

According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Trotter was transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment. He sustained injuries from the crash, though the extent remains unclear. Investigators noted Trotter was wearing a helmet and alcohol or drugs are not suspected as factors.
