Hanford, CA – The weather in Hanford is expected to bring both intense heat and a potential for thunderstorms as the week progresses. Residents should prepare for soaring temperatures, with highs consistently reaching above 100°F from Thursday through Monday.

Starting today, Hanford will see a high of 102°F under clear skies. The heat intensifies on Thursday, where the mercury is predicted to climb to a sweltering 106°F, making it one of the hottest days of the week. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued advisories for residents to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours.

As the weekend approaches, the forecast shows a slight cooling, with temperatures dipping slightly to 101°F on Friday. However, this day brings a new concern: the possibility of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, especially for the Sierra Nevada and surrounding foothills. The NWS Hanford office warns of a 5% to 28% chance of lightning strikes across various parts of the region, with the Sierra Foothills and Kern County Mountains and Deserts being particularly susceptible.

The heat remains relentless through the weekend, with Saturday’s high reaching 107°F, followed by even higher temperatures of 108°F on Sunday. Monday continues the trend with another scorching 107°F.
