Bradley, IL – A gun cleaning mishap in Bradley led to an unexpected arrest on Sunday evening. Bradley police were called to a local hospital around 5 PM following reports of a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The incident, initially believed to be an accident, occurred in the 100 block of S. Grand Ave.

According to Bradley Police Department, the victim claimed that his gun had accidentally discharged while he was cleaning it. However, further investigation revealed that 26-year-old Tristen Thornton of Bourbonnais, the injured individual, did not possess a valid Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card.

This discovery led to Thornton’s arrest on several gun-related charges, including Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Person without a FOID and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm Endangering Safety.
