Spokane, WA – Residents and travelers in the Cascade regions of Washington are urged to exercise caution as blizzard conditions are expected to continue through Wednesday morning, bringing significant snowfall and strong winds.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), multiple areas, including Stevens Pass, Roslyn, and Easton, remain under blizzard warnings until 10 a.m. PST Wednesday. Snowfall totals are anticipated to range from 6 to 20 inches, with higher accumulations expected at elevations above 2,500 feet. Wind gusts could reach up to 60 mph, creating whiteout conditions and making travel potentially life-threatening.

The warnings extend across Chelan County, the Upper Slopes of the Eastern Washington Cascades Crest, and the West Slopes North, Central, and South Cascades. Visibility may drop to less than 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow, the NWS reports. Road closures and hazardous travel conditions are anticipated, especially along US 2 near Stevens Pass and other mountain routes.

Officials advise restricting travel to emergencies only and recommend carrying a winter survival kit, including blankets, water, and tire chains. Power outages are also possible due to gusty winds.
