Frankfort, IL – A bicycle rider was injured in a traffic collision with a vehicle near Pfeiffer Road and Colorado Avenue in Frankfort, prompting public interest and a police statement addressing traffic safety concerns in the area.
According to the Frankfort Police Department, the incident occurred around 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday, when an officer witnessed the collision firsthand. The cyclist sustained minor injuries and is expected to recover. Authorities have confirmed the driver of the vehicle was not at fault, following an investigation that ruled out stop sign violations or speeding.
The department stated it released the update due to increased public speculation on social media. It emphasized that there have been no previous reported crashes at that specific intersection.
