Aurora, IL – Aurora Police, in collaboration with Kane County law enforcement, will conduct a “No-Refusal” DUI operation on Thanksgiving Eve. Known as “Blackout Wednesday,” the night before Thanksgiving often sees a surge in alcohol-related crashes.

The operation enables officers to quickly obtain warrants for chemical tests when drivers refuse breath tests. According to the Aurora Police Department, the initiative is part of a broader effort to enforce Illinois’ Implied Consent statute and reduce impaired driving incidents.

Officers will increase patrols, and officials encourage using rideshare options or a sober driver. Community members are urged to report suspected impaired drivers by calling 911.

Stay safe this holiday season by driving responsibly.
