Aurora, IL – Early Sunday morning, a residential garage fire in the 600 block of Saddle Lane displaced a family of eight, including two children. Aurora Fire Department crews responded at 12:55 a.m. after the homeowner reported heavy fire activity in the attached garage of their ranch-style home.
According to Aurora Fire Chief David McCabe, firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze before it could spread further into the home. The homeowner sustained a minor burn while attempting to fight the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Red Cross and Victim Services are assisting the displaced family.
