Aurora, IL – Girl Scouts of America Troop 4785, based at Wesley United Methodist Church in Aurora, has made a significant impact by donating over 100 pounds of locally grown produce to the Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry. The fresh vegetables, including jalapeno peppers, squash, tomatoes, and watermelon, were harvested from three raised garden beds on the church grounds.

Scoutmaster Kelly McCleary emphasized the importance of the project, stating, “We tend to lose a lot of kids once they get older. This shows that older Scouts can do activities and the little ones can help too.”

Rev. Tammy Scott, lead pastor of Wesley UMC, added, “It’s really kind of cool seeing a piece of church property being used that way. Our neighbors don’t often get that fresh kind of produce.”

Wesley United Methodist Church, located in Aurora, offers Sunday worship services at 9:30 a.m. online and at 10:30 a.m. in person. Admission and parking are free. For more information, call (630) 896-1033 or visit wesleyumcaurora.org.
