Little Rock, Ark. – Parts of northern Arkansas could see scattered thunderstorms through Thursday evening, while much of the state warms into the upper 80s and 90s under a humid June sky.
According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, the greatest chance for showers and thunderstorms will remain across the northern tier of the state through tonight. Temperatures Thursday morning dipped into the mid-60s to low 70s, with highs expected to climb between 86°F and 92°F by late afternoon. El Dorado and Monticello are among the warmest spots, reaching 92°F and 90°F respectively.
Communities like Fayetteville, Harrison, and Mountain View face the highest rain chances, with some areas north of I-40 seeing precipitation probabilities topping 65%. While widespread severe weather isn’t expected Thursday, forecasters warn that Friday into Saturday could bring a broader risk of strong to severe storms across central and southern Arkansas.
Travelers should watch for slick roads during any downpours, particularly in higher elevation areas in the Ozarks. Residents are advised to remain weather-aware, secure loose outdoor items, and prepare for possible disruptions to outdoor plans.
Storm chances taper Thursday night, but the active weather pattern continues into the weekend.
