Little Rock, AR – Northern Arkansas is under a Flood Watch this morning, with some areas in north-central Arkansas already receiving an estimated 10 inches of rainfall. The National Weather Service (NWS) has warned of potential flash flooding throughout the region, advising residents to stay alert and avoid flooded areas.

According to the NWS, the heavy rainfall has been persistent overnight, creating hazardous conditions. Meanwhile, southern Arkansas is facing a different weather threat. A Heat Advisory has been issued for this afternoon, with heat index values expected to soar between 105 and 109 degrees Fahrenheit. The NWS advises residents to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous outdoor activities, and check on vulnerable individuals, such as the elderly and young children.
