Wakefield, VA – Virginia is set to face another day of oppressive heat before an increased chance of thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening. Heat advisories are in effect for most of the region, except the Maryland beaches, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. High temperatures are expected to range from 93 to 98 degrees, with heat index values between 105 and 110 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, VA, today marks the last day of the extreme heat and humidity. Residents are urged to take precautions, including staying hydrated and avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun.
