Flagstaff, AZ – Northern Arizona is under a flash flood watch today as another round of thunderstorms moves through the area. The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has warned of potential flooding across much of northern Arizona, with a focus on the northwest, including the Grand Canyon.

According to the National Weather Service, localized to scattered flash flooding is possible, especially along and north of the Mogollon Rim. The heaviest rainfall is expected this afternoon, with storms continuing into the evening. The flash flood watch will remain in effect through 11 p.m. MST.

Residents are advised to avoid flood-prone areas such as creeks, slot canyons, and low water crossings. The National Weather Service emphasized that entering floodwaters is dangerous and should be avoided.

While the risk of flash flooding is classified as slight for most areas, those in the marginal risk zones should still exercise caution. Travelers and outdoor enthusiasts, especially near the Grand Canyon, should monitor weather updates and adjust plans accordingly.
