Ann Arbor, MI – Washtenaw County will suspend non-essential operations Wednesday due to dangerous cold temperatures. Officials announced closures will last until 5 p.m. to ensure the safety of staff and residents.
County offices plan to resume normal operations at 5:01 p.m., including all previously scheduled public meetings.
The county will provide warming facilities during the day for residents needing shelter. These centers will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The following locations are open:
• Washtenaw County Learning Resource Center, 4135 Washtenaw Ave, Ann Arbor
• Meri Lou Murray Recreation Center Lobby, 2960 Washtenaw Ave, Ann Arbor
• Washtenaw County Human Services Center, 555 Towner St, Ypsilanti
Officials urge residents to use caution and stay indoors whenever possible. Residents should check on neighbors, especially elderly or vulnerable individuals, during extreme weather.
