Albany, NY – Unseasonably warm temperatures will sweep across New York starting Tuesday, bringing a rare taste of late fall warmth to much of the region. Residents should prepare for a mild stretch that peaks midweek with temperatures approaching 75°F, roughly 20 degrees above the seasonal average. A chance of showers is expected on Wednesday, adding potential slick conditions for commuters.
According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday’s forecast in Albany predicts sunny skies with a high of 72°F, as warm southerly winds push temperatures above November norms. This warming trend continues Wednesday, when temperatures may reach a high of 75°F before a 30% chance of rain emerges in the afternoon. This rain could impact areas north of I-90, adding a layer of caution for those traveling on local highways.
The warm spell should gradually ease after midweek. Thursday will bring slightly cooler conditions with highs near 62°F under mostly sunny skies. By Friday, temperatures are expected to drop further, with a high near 61°F and partly cloudy conditions prevailing.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday should stay mild at around 57°F, with clouds building overnight. A chance of scattered showers will likely return Sunday, when highs hover near 57°F. The extended warmth provides a pleasant break, but drivers are encouraged to remain alert for wet roads Wednesday and Sunday.
Stay tuned for updates, and plan ahead for possible delays if rain intensifies on primary routes such as I-87 or I-90.
