According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, scattered thunderstorms may begin forming after 4 p.m. Thursday and continue into Thursday night, bringing the risk of heavy rain, lightning, and reduced visibility. While chances sit at 30% Thursday, the storm threat strengthens by Friday with a 70% chance of thunderstorms and a high near 91°F.

Localized flooding is possible, especially in low-lying or poorly drained areas. Residents should secure outdoor items, check flashlights and batteries, and avoid driving during periods of heavy rainfall. Patchy fog may also develop late Thursday night into early Friday morning.
