36-Year-Old Man Killed in Peoria Homicide, Suspects Sought

Peoria, IL – A 36-year-old man was fatally shot late Wednesday on Peoria’s west side. Police responded to a Shot Spotter alert at around 11:55 p.m. in the 200 block of N. MacArthur.

Officers arriving on the scene discovered the victim lying in the roadway on the 800 block of W. John Gwynn Ave., suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

According to Peoria Police, the identity of the victim will be released by the Peoria County Coroner. Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and the Crime Scene Unit (CSU) were on the scene to gather evidence and begin their investigation.
