Jennings, LA – A 19-year-old bicyclist died Thursday after a fatal crash on U.S. 90 near Louisiana Highway 1126 in Jefferson Davis Parish. Louisiana State Police are investigating the incident, which occurred shortly before 4:00 p.m.
According to authorities, Caleb East of Jennings was riding his bicycle westbound on U.S. 90 when a Ram pickup truck driven by Felton Duhon Jr. of Jennings struck him from behind. The impact ejected East from his bike, leading to fatal injuries. East was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene.
Duhon and his passenger, both restrained, were not injured. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and toxicology samples were collected from both parties for analysis. The crash remains under investigation as authorities continue to determine contributing factors.
