Bridgewater, NY – Two people were injured Wednesday afternoon following a single-vehicle rollover crash in the Town of Bridgewater, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Sheriff Robert Maciol, deputies responded around 3:41 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, to Mapledale Road for a report of a vehicle in a ditch with injuries. Upon arrival, authorities determined the crash involved a 1998 Buick sedan traveling southbound.
Investigators say the driver, identified as Jacob Land, 21, of Leonardsville, allegedly lost control while navigating a curve due to unsafe speeds for road conditions. The vehicle left the roadway, struck a culvert pipe, and overturned multiple times.
Both the driver and a passenger sustained injuries in the crash. Land was transported by Edwards Ambulance to Wynn Hospital with suspected facial injuries. The passenger, identified as Miranda Raposo, 20, of Bridgewater, was taken by Bridgewater Ambulance to the same hospital with suspected upper arm and shoulder injuries.
Officials say citations are expected to be issued as a result of the incident.
Emergency responders from the Bridgewater Fire Department, Bridgewater Ambulance, Edwards Ambulance, and Kolor Kromatics Auto assisted at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
