Whitestown, NY – Two people were injured following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning, May 12, at a busy intersection in the Town of Whitestown, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded around 8:55 a.m. to the intersection of Judd Road and Cider Street. Following an investigation, authorities say a 34-year-old driver from Utica was traveling southbound on Judd Road when she allegedly failed to stop at a steady red signal.
Police say her vehicle entered the intersection and struck a Ford F-150 traveling eastbound through Cider Street. The impact caused her vehicle to leave the roadway and roll down an embankment.
The driver, identified as Elizabeth Tran, was transported to Wynn Hospital with minor injuries after being evaluated at the scene by the Oriskany Fire Department.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 73-year-old man from Utica, was also evaluated at the scene for minor injuries and later released.
Authorities say citations will be issued as a result of the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
Emergency crews from the Oriskany Fire Department, Central Oneida County Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and local service providers assisted at the scene.
Drivers in the area experienced brief disruptions as crews responded and cleared the scene.
