Logansport, IN – Drivers in Cass and Carroll counties should prepare for extended travel impacts as State Road 25 is set to close in phases beginning Monday, May 18, for roadway maintenance.
According to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), State Road 25 will be closed between U.S. 35 and State Road 218 for seal coating operations over a two-week period.
The first phase begins on or after Monday, May 18, when the southbound and westbound lanes will close for approximately four days. Once that phase is complete, crews will shift to the opposite direction, closing northbound and eastbound lanes starting on or after Tuesday, May 26, for about three additional days.
During the closures, State Road 25 will be shut down to all traffic between County Road 300 South in Cass County and County Road 600 North in Carroll County.
Motorists are advised to follow the official detour route, which will direct traffic along State Road 218, State Road 29, and State Road 329. Drivers should expect delays and consider alternate routes if possible.
The project involves seal coating, a maintenance process that applies liquid asphalt and crushed stone to protect the roadway surface, improve traction, and extend pavement life. Work is weather-dependent and could shift based on conditions.
Travelers in and around the Logansport area should plan ahead and allow extra time during the closure periods.
