Hobart, IN – Emergency crews are responding to a vehicle that crashed into a home in Hobart, prompting road impacts and an extended rescue operation while the damaged structure is stabilized.

According to the Hobart Fire Department, the incident occurred in the 400 block of Joliet Street, where a vehicle struck a residential structure. Firefighters remain on scene working alongside the District Technical Rescue Team to safely shore up the building before the vehicle can be removed.

Officials said no injuries have been reported at this time.

Because the vehicle impacted the structure, crews must ensure the building is properly stabilized before recovery operations can begin. This process helps prevent additional structural damage and protects emergency personnel working at the scene.

Authorities are asking motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes while firefighters and rescue personnel complete their work. No estimate has been provided for when the scene will be cleared or when normal traffic can resume.

The Hobart Fire Department said additional information will be released if it becomes available.
