Dubois County, IN Man Arrested for Alleged Threats to Lt. Governor

Dubois County, Indiana – A Jasper man has been arrested after allegedly making threatening statements toward Indiana’s Lieutenant Governor on social media, according to Indiana State Police.

According to Indiana State Police Jasper Post, the investigation began Thursday, April 30, after authorities were alerted to threatening posts and messages directed at Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith on a social media platform. Detectives identified the suspect as 24-year-old Joshua Wasson of Jasper.

Police say Wasson allegedly made the threats online, prompting an immediate investigation by state troopers. Authorities conducted an interview at his place of employment, where further information was gathered in connection to the case.

During the investigation, officers also searched Wasson’s vehicle, where suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia were reportedly located. He was taken into custody and transported to the Dubois County Jail.

Wasson is facing multiple charges, including intimidation against a public official, a Level 6 felony, along with misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. He is currently being held without bond.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not released additional details at this time. Indiana State Police emphasized that all charges are allegations, and the suspect is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
