Oswego, IL – A Hoffman Estates man is facing felony DUI charges after a Sunday afternoon crash involving a motorcycle left two people injured in Kendall County.
According to the Oswego Police Department, the crash occurred around 4:10 p.m. on May 10, 2026, at the intersection of Chicago Road and Park Street. Authorities say a motorcycle traveling eastbound on Chicago Road collided with a Nissan Murano that entered the intersection while heading northbound on Park Street.
Police said the preliminary investigation indicates the Nissan allegedly failed to yield the right-of-way, leading to the collision. The motorcycle rider, a 26-year-old man, and a 14-year-old passenger both sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Nissan, identified as 40-year-old Eric J. Ramirez Torres of Hoffman Estates, was taken into custody at the scene. According to police, he was transported to the Oswego Police Department and later charged, with approval from the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office, with two felony counts of aggravated driving under the influence. He was also cited for failure to yield the right-of-way.
Ramirez Torres was booked into the Kendall County Jail pending a pre-trial hearing scheduled for Monday, May 11, 2026. Authorities said he was not injured in the crash.
Police noted that all charges are allegations, and the case remains under investigation.
