Kankakee, IL – The Illinois State Police are currently investigating the death of Jim A Krumwiede, a 50-year-old inmate, who reportedly died by hanging while in custody at the Kankakee County Detention Center.

Krumwiede, found guilty in November of felony domestic battery and unlawful interference with the reporting of domestic violence, faced a potential sentence of 2-5 years in prison.
