Chicago, IL – Amidst the chill of winter, the world’s only official Ghostbusters-themed bar prepares to fling open its doors on Jan. 10 for its Grand Opening within the enigmatic realm of Sony’s Wonderverse, a short drive from downtown Chicago in Oak Brook.

A preview of this spectral sanctuary unveils a lair that fuses the raw edge of nostalgia with the darker side of the Ghostbusters saga. Patrons step into an otherworldly alcove, shadowed corners awash in a spectral glow, while relics and whispers from the franchise’s lesser-told tales lurk in every nook.

The ambiance is charged with an eerie energy, punctuated by the defiant gaze of Vigo the Carpathian, his stern visage now a playground for mischievous specters. An erratic tower of books looms, a silent sentinel echoing the famed ghostly bibliotheca. The space further transforms as library aesthetics meld with scientific marvel, with blueprints for iconic Ghostbusters equipment adorning the walls, all bathed under a haunting blue fluorescent glow.

No tickets are needed to explore this covert haunt; only the bold will locate the secret portal. Within, bartenders enchant guests with ghostly concoctions. Standouts include a Mood Slime cocktail, a bubbling brew served in a glass beaker, promising a supernatural spectacle with every pour, and Slimer Jello Shots, served up inside of the bar’s namesake: a Ghost Trap.

Sony’s Wonderverse hosts this cryptic enclave, a singular haunt in the world, where the veil between dimensions thins. Here, thrills go beyond the libations; hidden artifacts and spectral surprises await those brave enough to delve into its haunted embrace.

The exclusive bar is a dedicated to all past and future Ghostbusters, and is a precursor to the excitement brewing ahead of the latest franchise installment, “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” set to thrill theaters on March 29th, further connecting fans to the Ghostbusters universe.
