Naperville, IL – Fire crews responded to a residential structure fire Sunday afternoon in Naperville that caused significant damage and left a home temporarily uninhabitable.
According to the Naperville Fire Department, the incident began around 2:42 p.m. on Sunday, May 10, 2026, when a 911 call reported a possible fire in the 800 block of Spring Creek Circle in DuPage County.
Initial crews arrived to find smoke coming from the roof of the home. Upon further investigation, firefighters located an active fire in the attic. Authorities confirmed all occupants had safely exited the residence prior to crews entering.
Firefighters deployed hose lines and were able to extinguish the flames in the attic space. Crews then conducted overhaul operations to eliminate any remaining hot spots and prevent the fire from rekindling.
The Naperville Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Naperville Police Department and the Bolingbrook Fire Department.
Officials estimate the damage at approximately $50,000. The home has been deemed uninhabitable pending further inspection.
No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
