Naperville, IL – Drivers heading into downtown Naperville on Memorial Day should prepare for multiple road closures and parking restrictions tied to the city’s annual Memorial Day Parade.

According to the Naperville Police Department, traffic restrictions and street closures will begin as early as 5 a.m. Monday throughout portions of downtown Naperville as crews prepare for the parade and related events.

Officials said several streets near the downtown parade route will be temporarily closed to vehicle traffic, and parking restrictions will also be enforced throughout the morning and early afternoon.

Police are encouraging residents and visitors to review the city’s official traffic control plan before traveling downtown Monday. Increased traffic congestion, detours, and limited parking availability are expected during the event.

The Memorial Day Parade is one of Naperville’s largest annual community gatherings, drawing large crowds to the downtown area each year to honor military service members and veterans.

Drivers are urged to allow extra travel time, follow posted detour signs, and avoid restricted parking areas to prevent citations or towing.

Pedestrians attending the parade are also encouraged to arrive early and remain aware of changing traffic patterns near barricaded intersections.

Additional traffic details, maps, and event information are available through the City of Naperville’s official event website.
