Clinton County, IL – Severe storms swept through Clinton County Monday evening, causing widespread damage across several communities and temporarily disrupting emergency communications, officials said.
According to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, the storms impacted multiple এলাকებში including Trenton, Germantown, Beckemeyer, Bartelso, Carlyle, and Centralia on Monday, April 27, 2026. Authorities said they are actively assessing areas believed to have sustained significant damage following the weather event.
Officials reported that during the height of the storm, the county’s dispatch center lost all communications, forcing emergency calls to be rerouted to a backup location. Within minutes, 911 service was restored and is now operational, though standard telephone lines for the sheriff’s office remain down.
Despite the intensity of the storms, authorities said there are currently no confirmed reports of major injuries or fatalities. Emergency crews are continuing to work through the night to evaluate damage and provide assistance to affected residents.
Residents are advised that if they need to contact the sheriff’s office, they should use 911 until normal phone service is restored. Officials say updates will continue to be shared through official channels, including the department’s social media and mobile app.
The storm system is part of a broader severe weather threat impacting much of the Midwest and South.
