Will County tops 2,000 total COVID-19 cases

Will County Health Department announced this afternoon the County had topped over 2,000 total cases of COVID-19, which now stands as of Friday at 2,009 cases.  Since Sunday, Will County has added a total of 351 new cases and 26 new deaths related to COVID-19.

Symphony of Joliet announced yesterday it’s asking for the National Guards assistance for the outbreak at their nursing home.  To date, 93 cases of COVID-19 had been reported to IDPH officials with 26 deaths at that facility. 

There are now 127 total dead in Will County due to the pandemic.

To date, 963 men and 1,046 women have been infected ranging in ages 5 to over 100 years old.  Among town case counts in the County, notable numbers include:

  • 564 cases in Joliet
  • 217 cases in Bolingbrook
  • 217 cases in Plainfield 
  • 148 cases in Romeoville 
  • 89 cases in Lockport
  • 44 cases in Shorewood
  • 73 cases in Homer Glen
  • 71 cases in Frankfort 
  • 72 cases in Crete
  • 56 cases in University Park
  • 51 cases in New Lenox
  • 53 cases in Mokena
  • 40 cases in Monee
  • 27 cases in Beecher
  • 19 cases in Manhattan
  • 14 cases in Peotone
  • 14 cases in Channahon
  • 10 cases in Wilmington
