BERLIN – Patient advocates in Berlin made a powerful statement during World PI Week by creating a stunning visual demonstration in front of the Reichstag building.
The event featured 100 large plastic bubbles, each occupied by a real person, to illustrate the isolation experienced by people with primary immunodeficiency (PI) when they lack proper diagnosis and treatment.
The bubbles were organized by CSL Behring, CSL Plasma, and other industry and advocacy groups to emphasize the critical need for blood plasma therapies.
As immunoglobulin, the treatment for PI, is derived from human plasma, which is in short supply globally, the demonstration highlighted the importance of diagnosis and treatment for PI patients.
CSL Plasma in Kankakee, Illinois opened last month and is now accepting donors with locations across the state. To find a donation center near you, visit their website here.
