E.volve Clothing Company Opens its Doors in Downtown Kankakee

E.volve Business Owner, Christy Smith, has worked in retail for almost three years. Christy has a background in healthcare where she was a respiratory therapist, but said it has always been her dream to open a clothing store. Christy started her business out of her home and promoted her clothing line on Facebook. She then began to do pop ups throughout the community and traveled with her clothes for about 18 months. A year and a half later, Christy opened DressWell Boutique in April of 2018.

Solar Training Academy early registration now at Kankakee Community College

Beginning in January, Kankakee Community College is hosting a course that provides skills in the emerging field of solar installation. The Solar Training Academy meets on four weekends between Jan. 25 and March 28. The weekend format is designed so most students can attend without missing school or work.
