Chicago Theatre Gets Spooky with Eclectic Full Contact’s ‘The Wonder’: A Haunting Tale of Ghosts and Grief in Illinois

CHICAGO, IL – Eclectic Full Contact Theatre is making a triumphant return to the Chicago theater scene with the world premiere of “The Wonder” by Maggie Lou Rader. 

The production, inspired by the first reported case of spirit possession in America, will be held at the Edge Theatre, located at 5451 N Broadway, and marks the theater company’s first full-length production in Chicago since 2019.

“The Wonder” delves into the emotions faced by two families in Illinois who are dealing with the untreatable illness of their children. It offers a glimmer of hope and a way to keep their daughters’ memories alive amidst the grief and pain of saying goodbye. With a talented cast that includes Jill Thiel, Timothy Sullivan, Tina-Kim Nguyen, Idalia Limon, and Isabella Valdez, and a production team led by Director Gaby Labotka, “The Wonder” promises to be a unique and thought-provoking theatrical experience.

The production runs from April 21 to May 13, with shows on Thursdays to Saturdays at 7:30 PM, Saturdays at 2:00 PM, and Sundays at 3:00 PM at the Edge Theatre. Tickets are priced at $30 for in-person attendance and $20 for livestream, and can be purchased at Tinyurl.com/thewondertix.
