The 82nd Annual Gladiolus Festival in Momence kicks off later this week and runs August 7th to August 11th featuring a variety of activities and events, starting with the Glad Fest Princess & Queen Coronation and wrapping up with the Adult Bean Bag Tournament & Beer Garden on Sunday afternoon.
This year’s Grand Marshall chosen by the Gladiolus Festival Association is Lifelong Momence resident, Elwood Line. A husband, father, grandfather, retired farmer, business owner, former Gladiolus Festival Board Member, Momence Chamber of Commerce Member, Moose Lodge and Odd Fellow member, and member of the school board for a quarter of a century! Elwood has attended nearly every Gladiolus Festival!
During this year’s event, the Graham Historic House & Museum will be open on Friday, August 9th from 1-4 pm and Saturday, August 10th from noon till 3 pm.
