San Angelo, TX – An Arctic front will grip West Central Texas through Thursday, bringing dangerously low wind chills and subfreezing temperatures. Residents should prepare for temperatures in the single digits and teens, with wind chills making it feel below zero.

According to the National Weather Service, an Extreme Cold Warning is in effect from Tuesday evening through noon Thursday. Wind chills as low as 5 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin within minutes. Officials urge residents to wear layered clothing, limit outdoor exposure, and check on vulnerable individuals.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny but bitterly cold, with a high near 32°F and gusty north winds. By Wednesday night, temperatures will plummet to 12°F under mostly clear skies. Thursday brings slight relief, with a high of 36°F, but another cold night follows with lows near 22°F.

Warmer conditions return by the weekend, with highs in the upper 50s by Saturday. However, residents should take precautions now to prevent frozen pipes and other cold-related hazards.
