Amarillo, TX – A dangerous Arctic blast is gripping the Texas Panhandle, bringing wind chills as low as -25°F through Wednesday. Residents must prepare for extreme cold, which could cause frostbite in under 30 minutes.

According to the National Weather Service, an Extreme Cold Warning remains in effect until noon Wednesday. Overnight lows will hover around 1°F, with bitterly cold wind gusts making conditions even more hazardous. Forecasters warn that hypothermia is a real threat, especially for those without proper shelter.
