Salt Lake City, UT – A mix of rain and snow will move into Salt Lake City this weekend, bringing freezing temperatures and potentially hazardous road conditions. Residents should prepare for winter weather impacts as precipitation arrives.

According to the National Weather Service, rain will continue Friday before transitioning to snow overnight. Saturday brings a 50% chance of snow, with minor accumulations possible in the valley and more significant snowfall in higher elevations. By Sunday, a mix of rain and snow is expected in the afternoon, keeping roadways slick.

Overnight temperatures will drop into the mid-20s, creating the potential for ice on roads, including I-15 and I-80. Motorists should drive cautiously and allow extra time for travel. The Utah Department of Transportation advises checking road conditions before heading out, especially in the morning hours.

Looking ahead, the cold trend continues into next week. Monday and Tuesday will see a slight chance of snow, followed by a break with partly sunny skies on Wednesday. Another system may bring more precipitation by Thursday.

Residents should stay updated with local forecasts and prepare for winter driving conditions throughout the week. Keep an eye on changing weather patterns and plan accordingly.
