Bowling Green, KY – A Flood Watch has been issued for south-central Kentucky, including Warren, Barren, and surrounding counties, from Monday evening through late Tuesday night due to expected heavy rainfall.

According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, 1 to 2 inches of rain are forecast from Monday night through Wednesday morning. With recent heavy rainfall saturating the ground, additional precipitation could lead to flooding in low-lying areas, urban locations with poor drainage, and along rivers and creeks.

Officials warn that flood-prone areas, including low-water crossings, may become impassable. Residents are urged to monitor weather updates and prepare for potential Flood Warnings if conditions worsen.

If flooding occurs, avoid walking or driving through high water. Motorists should turn around if they encounter flooded roads, as water levels can rise quickly.
