California Weather Alert: Gusty Winds Expected Monday in Sacramento Region, Secure Outdoor Items Now

Sacramento, CA – Strong winds are forecast for Northern California starting Monday, prompting safety advisories for residents in the Sacramento region. Weather officials warn of gusts reaching 10-25 mph in the Valley and Delta, with foothill and mountain gusts up to 40 mph.

According to the National Weather Service, the strongest winds are expected in higher elevations. Monday’s gusts could impact outdoor structures and create hazardous driving conditions, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Residents should secure loose items, such as patio furniture, and prepare for possible power outages.

Ahead of the windy weather, the weekend will remain calm. Saturday night will see patchy fog and frost, with a low of 36°F. Sunday brings sunny skies and warmer temperatures, reaching a high of 57°F. Dense morning fog is expected to lift by mid-morning.

By Monday, Sacramento residents can expect a high near 61°F, with frost in the early hours before winds arrive from the north and east. The advisory remains in effect throughout the day. Tuesday will offer calmer conditions and mostly sunny skies with a high near 58°F.

Drivers on I-80 and U.S. 50 should exercise caution during Monday’s wind event, especially in exposed areas. Stay updated with the National Weather Service for further alerts.
