Detroit, MI – A mix of rain and snow will impact Michigan starting Friday night, lasting through Saturday evening, with gusty winds.

According to the National Weather Service in Detroit, temperatures will rise into the mid-30s on Friday, bringing a rain/snow mix overnight. Forecasts predict 2 to 4 inches of snow accumulation, particularly across central and northern Michigan. Southern parts of the state will see more rain than snow.

Gusty southwest winds up to 30 mph will accompany the system, lowering visibility and causing challenging travel conditions. The snowfall will peak Friday night into Saturday morning, transitioning to lighter snow showers by Saturday evening. Roads could become icy as temperatures drop late Saturday, falling below freezing in most areas.

Weather officials advise residents to monitor conditions closely and limit travel if possible during the height of the storm. The heaviest snow accumulation is expected near Huron County and parts of the northern Lower Peninsula.

By Sunday, skies will clear, and sunshine will return, though temperatures will remain in the low 20s. The wintry mix serves as a reminder to prepare for hazardous driving conditions and to take extra caution on roads.
