Minneapolis, MN – Residents of the Twin Cities can expect a steady shift from cold mornings to warmer, near-normal highs by Friday. The National Weather Service forecasts mostly sunny skies and dry conditions throughout the week, with highs climbing from the teens to the upper 20s.

According to the NWS, today will bring a high near 17°F, with light northwest winds around 5 mph. Tonight, temperatures will dip to 8°F under mostly cloudy skies. By Tuesday, gradual warming begins, with highs near 18°F and clearing skies by the afternoon.

The warmest days this week will be Thursday and Friday. Thursday’s forecast calls for a high near 26°F with partly sunny skies, while Friday may hit 28°F. Winds will remain light, minimizing wind chill factors.

Motorists along I-35 and other main routes should be cautious of patchy ice during early mornings as overnight lows linger in the single digits through midweek. By Friday night, lows will hover around 16°F, providing a milder end to the week.

Residents are encouraged to make the most of the sunny conditions for outdoor activities, but remember to dress in layers during early morning hours.

With dry conditions persisting, precipitation is not expected, but travelers should check for updates as weather can shift unexpectedly.
